The Phoenix match clearly didn’t go to plan, and our new coach clearly has his work cut out for him. Taking over mid season has its own challenges, and we as supporters to get experience these challenges with our own eyes. The results of our last five matches were rather dismal. How the club approaches today’s match might end up defining the rest of the season.

As a positive, New Mexico United still has a game in hand (or two) against most of the Western Conference, but will now have also rely on the results of others to finish above the play off line. For the past four seasons, the Western Conference was really tight all the way to the bottom, but right now the top eight clubs are threatening to pull away. New Mexico needs to be clinical from here on out.

Colorado Springs lost on Wednesday night to RGV, and as such, would be a nice club to start redemption arc campaign against. We lost to them earlier this season away; time for some pay back. Colorado Springs sits in 7th place with 22 pts, and we really need to hold them in that place.

As an aside: El Paso, at the top of our Conference, has scored 24 goals, just three more than us. But has conceded eight less. If we get our defense in order, things can turn around.

What are your exceptions for this match? You planning on tailgating in the heat all afternoon? I gotta say, when the on field sprinklers came on before Wednesday’s match, I was really hoping they’d spray us down in the stands. (They did not). Think we’ll have some new signings soon? Are you ready to get really loud New Mexico?!

SOMOS UNIDOS! WE ARE UNITED!
